The USA Today published a story this morning about workplace dog policies, estimating that 20% of U.S. companies has dog-friendly work policies.    The article, titled “Dogs Allowed: Creature Comforts At The Workplace” discusses common parameters of dog-policies in the workplace and highlights the positive effects of having such policies:

Supporters say pets in the workplace reduce stress among owners who worry about home-alone dogs, are a calming presence for even the non-owners and help employees form relationships. And in these times of disappearing benefits, pet-friendly policies are a free perk. Companies with such policies range from edgy Newport Beach, Calif., cosmetics company Urban Decay to Healthwise, the Boise-based non-profit health information provider.

As most of our clients and friends are aware, Wolfe Law Group is a dog-friendly office with the cornerstone presence of Oscar, a 3-year old French Bulldog.   It’s of little doubt that Oscar contributes to Wolfe Law Group’s work environment, recognized in 2008 as a Best Place to Work by New Orleans City Business magazine.
